The Off-Leash Dog Play Area is situated in a grassy slope and provides a place for dogs to run and play off-leash. It is also a great place for families to enjoy a day of hiking and picnicking.

The Riverfront Trail

A paved path along the Snohomish River hugs the banks of this former mill site. It’s the brainchild of local Rotarians who saw in this blighted site an opportunity to transform it into a beautiful park.

The 1.6 mile pedestrian trail, which is ten feet wide, runs from a south entrance off Lowell River Road (near Rotary Park) to its northern end. It guides walkers through an area revered for its historical significance, natural beauty and central location.

The wetlands here are popular birding spots, with Pine Siskun, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, and Bald Eagles among the species spotted on any given day. Red-tailed, Sharp-shinned, and Cooper’s Hawks are also regular visitors. Fox Sparrows, Yellow-rumped Warblers, and Hermit Thrushes can also be spotted during winter months. The Dog Park

Located just north of the tennis courts in Lowell Park, this tiny dog enclosure is a great place to bring your furry friend for some socialization. It’s also a good place to run your pup when the weather is too hot or you want to get some exercise.

The fenced area is large enough for dogs to run freely without leashes but do keep in mind that they’re still under the watchful eye of their owners. They’re responsible for cleaning up after their pets and picking up their poop.

This 1.2-acre creative use of a free space under I-5 features crushed-gravel paths wending among concrete tiers and stairs. Bonus: It shares space with a boardwalk-like mountain bike trail, so you can go for a ride while your four-legged companions play on the beach.

The Tennis Courts

Everett is home to many fun and free things to do. From a variety of parks to the awe-inspiring Evergreen Arboretum & Gardens, you won’t be short on options when it comes to getting out and about.

The tennis courts at this park might not be the sexiest but they sure are functional and enjoyable to play on. The ten courts are well-maintained and the court lights are a welcome sight in the middle of the day! There are also plenty of opportunities to socialize with other players. The courts are also home to some of the newest and most state-of-the-art equipment around, including a new scoreboard system and an indoor training center that is open to the public during the warmer months.
